Our very first event of the year was held together with our partner, Love With Care Community, as part of an autism awareness initiative—aimed at helping more people understand autism and the behaviors of this community.
Autistic children are not “difficult” or “strange.”
They simply need communication methods that work for them. Many behaviors that may seem hard for us to understand are often expressions of anxiety—feelings they cannot yet translate into a language familiar to us.
Through sharing sessions and interactive story-telling, we introduced common traits and habits of autistic individuals in a gentle, experiential way. Our hope is that through continuous advocacy, we can plant seeds of respect, empathy, and inclusion in more hearts.
